This is very interesting news indeed. Not the Hitachi announcement I've been waiting for: i.e., commercial sampling of 64K FRAM which was held up because of fine tuning from 5 volt to 3 volt FRAM. But this license suggests the transition to 3 volts is behind us and news on sampling is forthcoming and there is a new license to boot.

Most interesting in this tidbit are quotes from the folks at Mondex and Sun Micro. Discussions with these companies appear to be pretty far along as both made positive comments on the record for FRAM--general as they were, I'll take their endorsement any day. We may be seeing new developments with these "new FRAM" players near term.

There has been some talk about someone dumping stock. It will be interesting to see how high this news will push price and on what kind of volume. Baring any dumping, if anyone wants to play the $4 to $6 swap game, it's this kind of news that will make it happen.

Pick your prices everybody. I'm out of here!
