Paul, ANTEC is mainly a reseller of products that are made by other companies. In recent years they have bought out many small companies related to their main focus, the cable TV industry (Regal, a maker of passive RF devices l and Keptel, a maker of closures for the cable and telecom industry). There are dozens or perhaps hundreds of fiber optic connector manufacturers worldwide and ANTEC is not one of them. The best known sold in the U.S. come from Lucent, AMP, 3M, ADC, Sumitomo, Diamond, Seiko, Fujikura to name just a few. If you are referring to fiber optic splicing machines, those are made by Sumitomo, Fujikura, Siecor, JDS Fitel, and a few others. Nearly 100 percent of bare fiber strand in the U.S. is made by Corning, Lucent, or Sumotomo. Several other companies buy fiber strand from them and extrude it into cables (Pirelli, Siecor, Commscope) ANTEC does not manufacture hardly anything related to fiber optics other than Keptel fiber splice cases. ANTEC is are mainly a reseller. I have their complete catalog at work and I have looked it over. They resell lots of fiber stuff made by Lucent. Ray J.
