It's not that I'm so much opposed to it, but I feel business does a better job of setting price than some sort of entity, such as ETSI or whom ever.

MSFT, is the standard, because they own and control the O/S. It a bit difeerent than what is going on in telecommunications. It reasonable to assume that there is a need for inoperability, but to allow one region to dominate the selelction, forget it. ITU should be setting a global standard, not ETSI or US or Japan.

The irony in all this debate, where is the domostration product that works? We already know what GSM is capable of and not, smae with CDMAOne. Where is Ericsson demo that works?? They are still working on it........... Like I said will will see what ETSI proposed system really looks like in 4 years.
