Doing a bit of math... Looks like 20.56 million ounces need to be delivered... total. Versus known and possibly "un-allocated" of around 138 million... but that in London.. a lot which already has overlapping claims on it... so it maybe useful for a borrow to pose as ownership against a short... but not useful to enable physical delivery. Maybe you could get 20 million ounces backed out of an ETF somewhere... but it doesn't appear that will happen now without people noticing... creating a huge liability if the ETF backstops a bank short at the expense of their holders... Keep an eye on the options trade for April delivery and see what happens there next week...
