David, 16 MBytes SDRAM DIMM are a low volume product and no more
relevant than FP DRAM. I have never seen a machine advertised with
only 16 MBytes of SDRAM since it is not cost effective and limits
expansion possibilities on motherboards that only hold two DIMMs.

In any case, my argument is that I can buy all of the 16 MBit SDRAMs,
installed on DIMMs, I want at $67 per 16. The fact that I could find
a way to pay more is not relevant.

Your $70 price is for Mac compatible DIMMs.

I agree that it doesn't cost much to assemble a board but don't
forget wholesale distribution, and retail distribution. Everybody
in the chain needs to make at least a little money.

The only way to really find the price is to call up Micron and order
a million units, something I'm not prepared to do just to satisfy my
curiosity.
