"What good does it do to track velocity w/o M2?" Maybe less an issue of "what good does it do" and more about "who does it benefit" ? Another way to look at it... not looking at M2 means monitoring velocity by monitoring direct spending, only, and not monitoring how much money is not being spent, that is getting stuffed into particular pockets ? Otherwise, don't believe a thing they say... about what they're looking at. What they're really saying in what they're saying... is they don't want to continue helping YOU in looking at M2 ?
