| | | Input/Output or Life on SI
SA is a site that really lets the knowledgeable shine, an SA contributor often has a large audience. SI is a little different, everyone is a contributor. You don't have to keep posting, but you must post enough to establish you output. You may not think you have anything to add but nothing could be further from the truth. Every one of us outputs, everyone chooses their inputs. That you are all looking for chowder's output is really good. The easiest way to get there is to make a few steps (posts) every day.
Every discussion topic has a Moderator, some are present and active, some are not. If a Moderator is not present then discussion ranges freely, you may have to hold your own. If a Moderator is present, read some posts by the Moderator to get a feel for the Topic and their take. Some subject titles may not present the discussion accurately, read a few posts, test the water. Though stock discussions tend to be focused, you may not like the focus the Moderator sets. Moderators manage the direction a discussion might take, respect Moderators, even if you disagree. SI is like SA in that we have a lot of knowledgeable people willing to share their insights. SI is not like SA in that here challenge is normal, there is no perfect portfolio, there are no pat answers. We are all Adam Selene.
