Africans dying for no apparent reason is what they're best known for. Even if it's preceded by years of wasting away. That's how WHO completely missed AIDS in Africa for decades. To first-world Doctors, young people wasting away and dying of illnesses like pneumonia all looked completely normal in Africa, but it was startlingly out of place when it happened in New York or London. Healthcare is cultural.
