SI is a fairly old community (in internet terms). It survived the influx of somewhat competing platforms BECAUSE it maintains its roots as a stock market / investment oriented forum while allowing other topics largely without cross-contamination.

As a long time SI member I would encourage new members not to attempt to challenge / get cute with this model. Stay on topic on whatever forums you choose
