I do have a major regret so if my mistake helps anyone here goes. When my wife retired 4 years ago we rolled her 403b into an IRA. That has since gone up fivefold. Had I had the foresight to pay the tax and roll it into a Roth all the money it has since made would be tax free. Now it will be all ordinary income when she is forced to take out some time around 72.
