I don’t know the details, but, basically, there was no way Israel could make any Arab countries give citizenship to Palestinians. Neither were they in a position to force a peace treaty on anyone. They still can’t.

Palestinians live under a very oppressive violent regime - and their groups in charge are doing very well for themselves. It’s a sad situation. Had Trump been re-elected, maybe there would be pressure on the Pals to settle. But now, with the old team in power, Pal extremists are back to their renewed hope of taking over, some day, the entire country.
