It might be more useful to know the # of flares that are released from the average sun spot as it travels across the Sun ? Highly unlikely to be easy to have a grasp of the energy released from any one Sun spot . Too much variance . Just having me leave out Flares leads to " what is he talking about " kinds of thinking . How much more confusion is generated by their lack of clarity /
