I sent the following letter to Mr. Angus and Ms. Cole:

Dear Mr. Angus:

Congratulations on your performance for 97, and good luck through the coming turbulent quarter. I have read on Silicon Investor that Cymer is considering closing future conference calls to small investors. I believe this change would not benefit Cymer or your small investors.

I believe that CNBC's improved coverage on Friday, Jan 30th, was a direct result of the email Silicon Investor members sent to squawk@cnbc throughout the day. After two lousy sections (one with Maria Bartiromo, one with Ron Insana), we finally got the positive information (100% increase in Q4 earnings, $0.02 better than expectations, stock buyback, and two upgrades) out in the afternoon and after the bell.

Had we not listened to the conference call, I doubt we would have been so persuasive.

What did MCA do to correct CNBC's purely negative coverage?

One of the reasons I invested in Cymer was Dr. Akins' willingness to speak to me when I asked about the compatibility of DUV and Cu. Along the same lines, I hope to be able to listen to future calls.

It is very important that loyal investors, some of whom have seen enormous paper losses, be allowed to listen to the conference call. Please do not isolate us. We are your biggest supporters.

Thank you,

xxxxxx
