Very nice pictures!

I've worked with Finns, I could never tell if they were in a good mood or a bad mood, they always had the same expression.

Here is a link to the Finnish mineral prospecting dogs, from what I have gleaned it was not a smashing success. Maybe the training methods, maybe expecting too much but more likely the suitability of the canine prospecting partner.

tupa.gtk.fi

The world's first prospecting dog was Rajan Lari.
Lari was trained to become the first prospecting dog in Finland and, at the same time, in the whole world used for geological research purposes. The trainer was a well-known working dog handler, Pentti Mattsson, who was the chairman of the association of working dog enthusiasts in Helsinki (HPH) in the spring of 1962. This was something new in the world. Mattsson had to create his training system on his own, from the very beginning. Nevertheless, his training methods were good and were subsequently used to train other dogs as well. GTK (Geological Survey of Finland) had, altogether, 16 prospecting dogs at its disposal between 1962 and 1994. The training methods for prospecting dogs are based on Pentti Mattsson's results obtained through experiments.
