IMO, there might have been problems with the various races before 1960---BUT truly I don't think the Repubs and probably most of the sane Dems (if there are any left like Joe Liberman) who really don't think of people as "race" first, or even the top 10....Most of us have for a very long time, chosen friends of ANY color,race, creed, etc by their CHARACTER, NOT the superficial things.
IF white, green, black, brown, orange, or anything akin, most of us do pay attention to the PERSON, not the superficial things...
Most of us don't chose for friends, murderers, thieves, no-account layabouts, etc. but rather what they are like...do they think of others beside themselves, are they kind, or do they just put on an act? I'm pretty sure I would NOT pick many people in Hollywood for anything like close friends...Most of my friends and family actually try, in our small ways, to make their world a better place.
I personally think the race-bating we hear about from the media is coming from many in the media, AND from the Democrats trying to make that their issue. They can't seem to understand that there is something to life besides being angry ALL of the time, and forgetting to praise people who do the right things.
They accuse the Conservatives of doing what they themselves, have been practicing for years and years. People like Jane Fonda, Harry Reed, Chuck Schumer, Eric Stalwell, Jerry Nadler, ETC. I don't know how most of these people even live with themselves. |
