I agree, not much to say lately. However, I know many lawyers, particularly IP (patent) lawyers. I'd guess at least half of them have moved (to another city and job) at least once in their careers. Patent law is a very high demand specialty, and they are always jumping around. At one time in my life I worked with about 20 patent lawyers. Of the 20, only three had not had major moves in their patent careers. I don't think it means much to move. I do agree that if he gets more money elsewhere, he will pay more attention elsewhere. Our hope is that he thinks we could win, and his pay would therefore increase in value dramatically. If he thinks we will lose, he has no incentive.
