Interesting. I love Kate Bush and Devo but wouldn't put them in the HoF. For me, Carole King and the Go-Gos are my top two given their impact beyond their music. I'm not an Iron Maiden fan, but their music has maintained its popularity over 30 years, so I'd put them in. Foo Fighters are the closest the newer generation has to true rock star status. I also think LL Cool J on reputation, but I confess to not really knowing much about his music.

I think Todd Rundgren could probably get in under a different label than artist given all the hats he has worn. Carole King is already in as a songwriter. Tina Turner is already in with Ike.

Don't know anything by Mary J. Blige. I only know Chaka Khan from Chaka Khan. Jay-Z I guess was a hip-hop original, but I don't really know his songs either. Fela Kuti is #1 in the fan vote, but that's kids thinking it funny to vote for him. NY Dolls are considered seminal punk rockers, but their music isn't iconic. Not a big Rage Against the Machine fan. And though Dionne Warwick had a massive number of hit songs, she is really just a prolific singer, not a songwriter.

All IMHO of course.
