After SINTX Technologies reported on their progress towards the manufacture of a "catch-and-kill" mask that will inactivate respiratory viruses, the computer programs had a field day - 86 million shares (almost 4x the float) traded in one day.

In addition to the virus neutralization research, SINTX is developing implants based on silicon nitride. Spinal implants have been in production for several years. Now the company believes it can create other silicon nitride implant devices (e.g. hip, knee, leg, dental) that are superior to what has been used for the past 20 years. Silicon nitride may be the next wonder material - only problem is that is barely out of the lab. Commercialization at scale generally takes years.
