John Paris: A few weeks ago we were talking about AWRE not being in any trials... and i indicated that i would email GTE for a clarification... Well here it is: ************************************ My name is Bill CXXXX and i work for XXX in Central New Jersey. I've been trying to follow the Trials in Irving Tx. and in Redmond with MSFT. I was just at the Interopt show in Atlanta. I did notice that the Amati modem was about twice the size of the Flexcap modem, but they both worked. I had one question at the show that when answered really confused me. 1) Why isn't GTE showing the Aware modem at the show. Answer - We never tested the Aware modem. Is this true??? Your web site indicates that Aware was being tested. ******************************** GTE response: Thanks for your interest in our ADSL trial. To correct what was stated to you at the N+I show: GTE did test the Aware modems in our laboratories, but to this date, we have only used the Westell and Amati modems in our two trials in Dallas/Fort Worth and Redmond, Wash.
