Hi MF

I saw a spot on long haulers on tv the other night. That must be awful as I'm sure you know. All the things that long haulers have to endure and not knowing whether they will ever get fully over it.

Yeah...Long haulers re FINALLY getting recognition. In Calgary there are now 2 clinics devoted to long haulers. They are focused on respiratory problems for the most part. I have a mild respiratory problem. I lost 20% of my lung function after the attack but recovered most of it back during my hospital/rehab stint. There are a lot more sufferers in worse shape than I.

The after effects from a COVID attack...most doctors have little knowledge of how to deal with them. I know this personally. COVID struck my legs and mostly my feet. My ankles swelled to almost 2x their size at first. Three doctors tried to reduce the swelling... the first 2 tried and failed...the last one came to me and gave me a drug saying if this one failed they had nothing for me...thank God that worked and the swelling slowly lessened. that was back in May last year....I finally was able to walk without a cane just before Christmas. I still use a cane outdoors...my feet are ok but my legs between my knees and butt feel like lead. I cane walk but like an old man...if I stumble though without a cane I'd be on the ground....my difficulties have not ended there yet.

Now I get headaches....(sigh)

I hope you find a place for your mother.
