Re OC - I am familiar with Owens Corning and it seems like an OK value. I am not really looking for a housing play however. I think housing can run for a while, but some of the excess margins from higher pricing may come off quickly.
I mentioned my brother working sales for a lumber mill in Belgium and they are now exporting 4x4 into the US market for the first time because the excess profits are higher than in Europe. Capitalism has a solution for higher prices and I think at least in lumber, we will see prices coming down, it just takes a little.
OC has less of that issue. However my holdings ORI and FAF are already housing plays in the sense that title insurers benefit from more mortgages. I am less concerned about competition here that I would be if I owned commodity plays.

This whole inflation frenzy reminds me of 2011 when we also saw a rush in commodities, including silver that quickly wore off. I do think we will see an inflation spike but I don’t think it is going to be long lived.
