I attended a presentation at the Sony Technology Engineering Center last Thursday. I asked about Sony's plans on HDTV. The engineers are excited about the technical prospects as they apply to TV's. They did say most of the money for this conversion will be spent on the transmitters. One engineer pointed out that most TV studio equipment has digital features design into the products already. Most of the attendants were completely lost on the subject. I asked about any market research Sony might have done to kind of give me a idea how fast they think this market will take off. They have done none at this point. They do plan to have products available by the end of the year. Ken
