A lot of cops really need training on how to deal with dogs. Even with properly trained cops with the right attitude you won't get zero dog shootings but right now its just way too common. In addition to the deaths of dogs and the suffering of humans because of that it can lead to human deaths. I posted here some time in the past about cops trying to shoot a dog who accidentally hit a person. Also it appears that the shootout at Ruby Ridge might have been kicked off by federal agents shooting a dog.
