The way a person think and his beliefs are determined by economic system he has been living in.
You (probably) would have a tough time coming across to a Scandinavian because Scandinavian economic system molded the way the people there think.


Coming across to an African or to a Chinese would be even tougher. Most people will jump to the conclusion that it is the cultural gap
But what we call 'culture' is nothing more than the way people think based on the economic regime they have lived in.


The Canadians -who are made of immigrants from the same regions- think and vote different than the Americans because they live under a different economic system. That is the only thing that differentiates the Americans from the Canadians: The economic system.


I consider myself one of the very few individuals who are more fortunate to have lived under various different economic regimes and exposed and interacted with all those different ways and cultures.
As a result I have constantly been forced to think harder trying to understand people's scale of values, (well else I would have gone back to Brazil) how different people think and behave they way they do.


Having been exposed to that diversity of thoughts, (not thought as in philosophic thought but normal peoples way of thinking) I find myself better equipped to understanding new developments in society.
