I have been surprised in the weakness in the semiconductor equipment stocks given the need to build out capacity for the next few years and the re-establishment of capacity in western countries to avoid geo-political issues.

It just indicates how nervous traders are. They are looking at the high P/E versus the underlying growth rate of earnings.
