I am as sorry about that as I would be were I a Republican. We need a functioning second party.

What you said. Better if we had more like 5 functioning parties, just to pluck a number out of the air. But in a winner take all system like we have, 2 parties is probably the maximum you can have. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean you can't have only 1 functioning party.

As I have stated before, the Democrats aren't all that great. But at least they make a pretext of governing rationally. The Republicans don't even try.
