My impression is that AMD has just given up on fixing the .35 micron yield problems, just biding time until they can TRY .25 micron. If it works, great, AMD investors could make a killing. If it has the same (or worse) problems as the .35 micron process, then, perhaps literally, AMD goes belly up.

Oh, yes, there is one other minor point: apparently AMD might not have enough cash to even get to the point of trying the .25 micron process.
