aaah i see, then it should be any day...
i inferred the possible takeover, but pretty much rejected the idea of pending litigation as a red herring...
but i know little about competition in the gaming world, its attendant intrigue and perhaps covert activities... much like the veil of secrecy surrounding new releases: i imagine it is much like one big closed set, with its growing folklore likely to be as sacred to the final iteration, as the game itself.
distribution has become practically an in-house matter: i had some sense of this when i owned broderbund ( i was fortunate in my experience there, having the good sense to not be greedy . actually, it was one of my more successful investments...i owned it twice and only made money.)
the shelf space, etc is critical to attracting buyers. placing it in optimum traffic, having displays, etc. i know brod's reason for buying intuit was in no small part to take advantage of their strength in mail order....
but cr, i agree we will have to wait to see the filings for any reassurance about using the gti route. i am curious to know what arrangements were struck...i have walked into a few stores lately to check out our presence. even where the dept was small, i found easily the microprose brand.
i want to stop into virgin tomorrow and have a look... i will fill you all in. |
