"Buffet recently started a position in CVX." I have to wonder if that's Buffett himself doing that buying or one of his "Proteges" ? CVX's TTM Income Statement looks a bit of a "Mess" especially as there's a relatively large loss already at its Pretax Level ...... I also understood that Buffett preferred not to invest in "Commodity Type" Businesses, such as Oil and Gas, due to the Competition that they face in the Marketplace. I understood his preference was for "Consumer Monopoly" Type Businesses as they have far greater control of setting the prices of their products or services and thereby can make their desired profits with greater assurance.
