Just a "new PC" update for the fun of it now that the market is closed ...

Got my new PC, turned it on for the fist time today and got some stuff running with the 5 hour help of my (computer guro / large company IT professional) BIL and the simplest way I can put it. I love to hate the new PC and this whole setup process.

After 5 hours I got a somewhat functioning PC with some of the crucial programs loaded up, some of the relevant data transferred, some syncing working, my home network seeing every computer with loads more I have to tackle. One of my crucial programs, QuickBooks 2010 sadly turned out incompatible with Win 10. Not sure yet how to "skin this cat".

Side note to SI member "nicewatch": The suggested download of 2019 MS Office Pro Plus from this Chinese outfit you suggested worked perfectly and I was able to use your discount code. Thank you.

I have this strange feeling that I will use my old PC for quite some time before I get comfortable enough to make the new one my "work horse".

OK. that's it for now. Probably more to come later., My head is buzzing with a million more thoughts / questions / things I still have to do.

Did I mention? I hate farking computers and how dependent we have become to these seemingly designed to frustrate us gismos?
