I understand your concerns, I have been using the subscription model for Adobe, Microsoft for a few years and enjoy having the latest version with proper updates and fixes as needed. There is no going back, Remember Microsoft gave away Windows 10 for free to everyone who wanted it, but I expect in the near future, there will be a subscription vs a license for Windows and Apple OS and nearly everything else. A sign of the times .
