I enjoyed your post, Caxton. Independent of the real merits of TDMA vs. CDMA, however, I found the last two last sentences of the article most intriguing.

These were the particular key phrases which caught my eye:

"...it (IBM) all but exterminated the rival" and "...it didn't matter that for years Apple had the superior operating system." If this analogy proves valid, then all that precedes it is not all that important in the long run.
