3 studies done in the 80’s... by whom, what was their method, where were they published... and so on. Hard to know what to make of this story.

Otoh, air filtration works. Good quality filters in airplanes made them relatively safe during this entire epidemic.

It’s a matter of what material is used as a filter - and whether the air is forced to go through that filter, rather than bypass it in a variety of ways - which is the case, IMO, 98-99% of the time.

I think we all had the experience of watching people talk - and, when the light comes at a certain angle, we could see bursts of droplets come out of their mouths. That’s the best, most decisive study, as far as I’m concerned. I’ve spent plenty of time in operating rooms. You have a group of people, working hard... sometimes things get tense and people raise voices. Without barriers, those droplets WILL fly all over.

I doubt that any doctor or nurse ever willingly walked into a ICU to take care of CoViD patients with no mask on. Indeed, I’ve seen photos of their bruised faces - from wearing N95 masks for many hours. That’s how they’ve got to live to tell the story.
