You want to call election cheating something else and ignore the central point, which is that it was cheating.

Words have meaning. Words express things or concepts. If what you want to make an issue of something, call it by an apt label.

you seem intent on reporting the technical terms while ignoring the essence.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, I'm more interested in critical thinking as a practice than I am in most of the topics being discussed here, save for a few hobby horses of mine. Your "essence" is the general subject you're writing about, a gauzy muddle. My "technical terms" are about trying to garner enough precision in our common language so that we can have an intelligent discussion. Yeah, I can usually identify which gauzy muddle(s) you've chosen to highlight in a post. But I can't do anything with them until and unless I can pin them down.

Words express concepts. Cheating, for example, is different from corruption. It's also different from outmaneuvering. Or overpowering. Or outsmarting. (Same thing goes for lies and sales talk, etc.) You're just flailing around in the gauzy ether if you can't identify the concept and put it in the right box. Flailing around is just fine if you just want to have yourself a satisfying rant. For something constructive, for understanding, no so much.
