Before a family member signed up for a Prime account, I remember being tricked into signing up for Prime a couple times. I had to cancel through the web site. One time I was activating a new Fire Tablet, and somehow I didn't uncheck a box and they signed me up. The other times they tricked me through the checkout process or some other scam.

It is horrible how many tricks they use to get you to accidentally sign up. Any company that didn't own so many politicians could not get away with this.

Having Prime does pay off for the free shipping.
