Pathology expert tells Derek Chauvin's trial George Floyd had an enlarged heart that left him needing more oxygen to function - and drug use 'played a role' in his 'sudden cardiac death'
dailymail.co.uk
- Dr David Fowler, the former chief medical examiner of Maryland, took the stand on Wednesday morning
- He concluded that George Floyd suffered a 'sudden cardiac arrhythmia' during his restraint by Derek Chauvin
- Fowler also said Floyd had an enlarged heart, which meant he needed more oxygen to function
- His conclusions contradicted those of other medical experts who said Floyd died from a lack of oxygen
- The day began with Chauvin's defense attorney Eric Nelson filing a motion to acquit his client
- Nelson argued that evidence brought by the state did not prove either the unreasonableness of Chauvin's use of force or the cause of Floyd's death
- The motion was denied by Judge Peter Cahill who said his duty was to view the state's case in the most favorable light
- Cahill also denied a defense bid to subpoena Morries Lester Hall, who was with Floyd on the day he died

George Floyd Posed As A Water Company Man To Rob A Pregnant Woman
Back in 2007, when George Floyd was 35 years old, he was the leader of a robbery where he and a gang of men forcefully entered a pregnant woman’s house. A clever scheme was thought out beforehand. To encourage the woman to open her door Floyd would pose as a water department worker. He dressed in a blue shirt to emulate the outfit of a worker, he then knocked on the woman’s door. The plan worked and she opened the door, but she realized quickly that Floyd wasn’t from the water department. She tried to close the door but George Floyd grabbed hold of it and held on. As he stood holding the door open, a Ford Explorer van with five of Floyd’s friends pulled up to the house. This, of course, was part of the plan, and they rushed the property. Once they had entered the house one of the robbers pulled out a gun and pointed it towards the woman’s pregnant stomach. As this was going on, Floyd started to search the house looking drugs, money, or jewelry.
