The mice studies date back to 2016.

Question - Why didn't ZEN anticipate this issue?
Did anyone there ever perform a search on graphene / graphene oxide toxicity?

If ZEN was as concerned about safety as much as they say they are, they should have researched the issue, then performed testing to determine whether any graphene could be inhaled from masks manufactured with their ink. That's known as being proactive.

When I scanned the disinformation board last weekend, I was absolutely appalled by the complete lack of sensitivity by most of the posters. All they cared about was the ZEN share price. Even some of "blame the victim" (the individual who reported his concerns to Health Canada) going on and downplaying the seriousness of the issue. They claimed the ZEN masks were completely safe even though we have yet to see a published trial that examines the potential of inhaling graphene nanoparticles from masks coated with ZENGuard.
