hi Tom, Thanks for the Malasia/Iris post. We first started talking about Malysia back in May. For clarification to other readers: MG had reported that the parent of Iris was a potential $40-50M to rmtr. Nothing seemed to come of it and Iris wilted after your last post as referenced last night.

I really liked yesterday's news and decided to search the Sun site. Guess what I came across Tom. Answer: Iris

I am seeing what is becoming an incestuous relationship in the smart card family of companies. And I see rmtr right smack dab in the middle. I really don't know about uncle George but I know that Dan is close with him. Anyway, this is one of the many very interesting tid bits that I found on the Sun site.

TL Technology of Malaysia Licenses Java Card

TL Technology Research (M) Sdn. Bhd. of Malaysia announced it has
licensed the Java Card Application Programming Interface (API). With this
agreement, TL Technology, together with its manufacturing partner IRIS
Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd., will produce Java Smart Cards and develop
Java Smart Card-based applications for commercial use.

The Java Card API enables Java to run on smart cards or other devices
with limited memory.
