Norton has a daughter! This revelation has shaken me to my core. Norton had become the equivalent of Carleton the Doorman on the old Rhoda show--a disembodied voice distilling life for us in a distorted yet somehow meaningful manner. To learn that he is corporeal, and that somewhere there is a Mrs. Norton, unless of course, the nubile Nortonette sprang from his forehead or his potato gun full-grown, fills me with awe. What sort of woman would marry Norton?? I am consumed with curiosity.
And that gummibears appear so significantly symbolic in your story, seems to me beyond doubt the work of the gods. Your life seems filled with these potent portents and we are grateful for your sharing them with us.
