Doby and all:

While Placer may lose out on this deal, as has been pointed out
repeatedly, they were aware of the risks and also chose to ignore
I. Mael's claims. Finally, when the CVG mess gets straightened out
whatever effect the Placer withdrawal has on mining investment in
Venezuela should be short-lived. On the other hand, it is likely that
once the LC 4 and 6 problem is resolved in KRY's favor, a big brother
will step up and participate in the development of that resource.

I am more concerned for Placer, regarding the possible backlash
of its shareholders, than I am for Venezuela.
