It is extremely unlikely that a competitor will emerge. You can't clone the organic development of Bitcoin and its big network of developers, companies, users. There are 7000 "crypto currencies" and none of them managed to get anywhere close.

I doubt that many kids have ever heard of Tulip Mania.
