Right, John. I noted the story last night, and "Lessig Removed" is not quite accurate, but probably fits one of your definitions. A stay was issued. Your quotation is quite selective too. Bias is as bias does. We all know where your soul is at.
Lessig was to have reported back to Judge Jackson by May 31. But the appellate court ordered the Lessig matter combined with another Microsoft appeal and will not hear oral arguments on both matters until April 21.
Now, this sort of sounds to me like a fairly straightforward procedural matter, not a ruling on Lessig's alleged transgressions, but I'm biased and you're objective. You're probably Chevy Chase too. Since it's being rolled into the same deal with that totally objective panel including the Bork protege Randolph, the effect may be the same. And there was nothing political about the Reagan/Bush judicial appointments, no, they were just the best legal minds available. Too bad, we'll just have to wait for a bigger action to be filed.
Oh, from Justin's wp story:
The appeals court did not indicate why it decided to put Lessig's examination on hold, which will remain in effect until at least April 21. The ruling was issued by circuit judges Laurence H. Silberman, Stephen F. Williams and A. Raymond Randolph.
So, your excerp is as usual a concise statement of the TRUTH, as expressed by Microsoft PR guys.
Cheers, Dan. |
