I got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Friday and other than a sore arm, I've had no side other effects. The soreness is almost completely gone today.

My second shot is scheduled for mid May.

I believe the Pfizer vaccine is the "safest" of the big three for side effects, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna being the other two.

But that said, I think the chances for severe side effects are rare. For example, there have been 7 reported cases of blood clots in women in the U.S. for the J&J vaccine, but that's out of 9 million doses. That equates to a .000078% chance of having that issue if my calculations are correct.

My brother-in-law got the Moderna vaccine and the second shot put him out of commission for a day with aches and a slight fever, but he recovered quickly.

Word is that those getting the Pfizer (and perhaps other) vaccine will need a booster shot in the fall, but I'll deal with that when the time comes.
