Let's start with first principles.

Covid is treatable, full stop.

Canadian ICUs are clogged because there is practically ZERO initial treatment in Canada - go home and self isolate, if you can't breathe, go to hospital emergency. Why don't doctors issue the same advice to patients infected with bronchitis?

Lots of studies (peer reviewed) out there.
Now about half a dozen treatments - HCQ (yeah it works very well if taken within the first few days and in conjunction with other prescriptions), ivermectin, nitazoxanide, ......

Spouse has family in the middle East. One very close family member would have ended up in the ICU in Canada, I have little doubt. Prescribed a cocktail of medications. Even though there was a significant delay (no prescriptions until the 5th or 6th day), the person was able to completely recover at home. Within 72 hours, symptoms were already melting away.
