Ok Bill lets get to the heart of the matter --

You all (Dan, Dermot, etc...) keep claiming this BS

Will MSFT ever start to act like a true monopoly and push up the prices?
It has already started to do that

But it isn't true and I want you to name the products and the increase in price and I will start with one that goes against your claim -

Microsoft Office 97 Professional - Includes
---- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access

From the MicroWarehouse Web Site
$529.95 Upgrade $309.95

From the ProVantage Web Site
$509.00 Upgrade $292.79

As I remeber when I bought WordPerfect 4.0 in 1987/88 (I believe that this is the right timeframe) through my University at special student pricing it cost me over $400.00 just for a word processor. Looks to me like I get one hell of a lot more software (Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentation, E-Mail/PIM, and Database) for roughly the same price as a word processor. Looks like falling prices to me.

Larry...

BTW - If you plan to compare the price of Win95 to DOS or Windows please add the price of DOS and Windows together and lets see.
