I'd stand about 30 ft away and try to talk. eg: don't want to kill anyone, not that bad right now don't make it worse .... let's sit down and talk ....

If they aproached with threatening posture, I would kneel, draw, maybe go back down, feet forward, use feet as first line of defense... if they tried to cut me they would get one shot in lower abdomen. I'd prefer a lighter round, .32 or less.

In Israel they use .22 so as not to kill, or so I have read. Ruger 10-22 in pistol form would work. Sort of half way between tazer and the cannon most cops use.

The cops can't hit em in the leg because they are too afraid shakey. There is not way to tell who will stay cool or who will panic.

All jurisdictions are the same, large caliber shoot till the bullets are gone. That has to be the policy, everywhere. No reason to try something different..
