Cox, I am listening to you, only because recently, a few of your posts contributed something worth looking at. I choose to ignore my long-held personal opinion that you are a fluffy pos. Please don't buck the trend. If you can not see what is happening in this world that is your problem or will be shortly.
What I pointed out in the last post was that the media is not even trying to be honest. It just follows the fear and $. We have gone beyond the point of honesty and facts from the Press and media. I'm not sure why you bring Jordan into this, as he would likely agree with me and shake his head at your sophomoric comments. He was ridden down by the Press for speaking his mind and pointing out the need for personal responsibility. If you actually are reading him, it appears you do not understand his words and references. Jordan is quite clear that taking responsibility for oneself is not shutting up and going with the crowd. It is often quite the opposite.
I'm just trying to see what the future holds and reflect on it. There are a lot of people who read without commenting. There is a growing fear of commenting on anything. The point is that we are watching ourselves slip into an authoritarian world where uniformed thugs will be able to break into our homes for no real cause other than what we have uttered. But resistance is not futile, and speaking what one considers the truth is for many a part of their upbringing.
SI was one of the first places where people could meet, and it remains a lot freer than others. I have yet to see SI censor people for writing 'hurtful' things. Nor do they employ fact-checkers of nil intelligence to police the threads. However, even SI has it thought thugs at work from time to time. And what have they accomplished? Pouge is blocked, and, quite frankly, he was years ahead of most professionals in his assessments of some health matters. He still is. But he is locked out. It seems that SI is too interested in hunting down 'bad words and nasty phrase' than in the rapid dissemination of knowledge that could and would have saved lives. His D3 comments alone have been extraordinarily insightful and likely helped many people maintain their immune systems and health long before it was so obvious it could no longer be ignored.
Obesity ( and its offspring diabetes, hypertension, copd, liver problems, renal failure, gastrointestinal distress, and lack of exercise and hydration) is likely the primary risk factor for covid, followed by other comorbidity factors like cancer. Age is a factor but generally coupled with comorbidity factors that put one in a care home. Stupidity ranks right up there as well; take care dude!
Charters has likely passed, (Why mock the dead?) or he just grew tired of people like yourself. He was a good man. His initial set of references still holds much helpful information. I miss his comments as I do Pogue's. Their dialogues were often informative. They kept the thread vibrant.
Today health is politics, and politics is health. The thread suffers. But we all suffer in this present oppressive state of world affairs. It is our own doing. But it can and should be resisted and turned.
