TO ALL: Let me say something somewhat contrarian here. I read the comments about short-termers and flippers, and how it's best for them to go, etc., but the fact of the matter is, such activity does not help the stock, and the volatility that they generate may even be discouraging potential INVESTORS from taking a serious look at DCI.
Now don't misconstrue my comments. I value Joe and Michael's participation as much as anyone. Nevertheless, in my opinion, presaging announcements seems to draw the wrong type of shareholders, i.e., flippers, momentum players, etc., and may well contribute to the stock's relative lack of progress (I know, I know, it's up .xx cents in the last xx weeks and so on). Although I focus mid- to long-term re DCI, I can't help but feel frustrated when the promise of, and announcement of, news doesn't move the stock price to any appreciable degree.
Although I am as anxious as anyone else to find out what's going on, to hear about pending deals, etc., using SI to provide such alerts seems to be counterproductive. I HATE quiet periods, personally, regardless of what benefits they may hold, but maybe, just maybe, we would be better off if we just hear about the news when it is actually released, rather than receive alerts and the like.
Just one shareholder's opinion.
Ken
P.S. I have no idea why the word contrarian is showing up in red, if indeed it does once I submit this response. A red flag maybe? ggg. |
