Hi Matthew,
The thing with ALTR is that it is still way below its bearish resistance line and that is risky. Remember the RS is weak too.
If you are trading this stock there is no reason not to take profits. If the stock continues to improve and the sector still looks strong, you can buy back in when the chart firms up.
Altera may pullback after this move up. I wouldn't be surprised. You can buy back in then but I think others in this sector look better. TA speaking of course.
If you want to hold long term, follow up your position with stops.
