The Democratic party has not done a good job overall for the last 10 years or so getting people elected.

2010, was a total disaster because not enough people of our best and brightest were working on the campaigns very much, and Tim Kaine was DNC chair and governor of Virginia, which is more than a full time job and so had little time for it. Obama should have appointed some one else.

That was such an important year to work hard on nationwide campaigns and we dems got destroyed, it was a disaster with over 60 house seats lost and hundreds of statewide seats, and the destruction reverberates through to today.

Once the gerrymandering gets in place, it feeds on itself as it gets harder and harder to win elections by the defeated party.

Certainly a matter of short sightedness by the Democratic leadership.

I started to outline the specifics, but erased it, as it is just too hard a story for many to hear.
